  • Overview

    The Safety Coordinator position requires an individual with working knowledge of basic industry and construction safety practices.  The Safety Coordinator must be familiar with the various industries serviced by Atwell and its subsidiaries, and possess an understanding of the terminology used by these industries.  In this role, an employee will be expected to develop and demonstrate proficiency in regards to the essential functions of the job found below.


    • Mange third party safety data websites:
      • ISNetworld
        • Must be able to navigate Operator Qualification issues
      • Avetta
      • PEC
      • Pinon/OQSG
      • Veriforce
      • NCMS
    • Coordinate with the Human Resources Department to ensure the following is provided and tracked for employees if needed:
      • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
      • Medical Monitoring
      • Safety related training such as: Hazwoper, H2S, Safeland, & DOT Operator Qualification
    • Purchase and distribute PPE for employees.
    • Track PPE issued to employees per PPE policy.
    • Process and track all Company Drug Testing.
    • Submit invoices to accounts payable for payment to all safety related vendors.
    • Coordinate with Marketing to provide the Friday Five safety message.
    • Coordinate with the Director of Safety to produce and issue the monthly safety poster to each office. Good editing skills required.
    • Assist in implementing and administering safety policies.
    • Responsible for routine tasks such as: maintaining records, compiling statistics and data entry, maintaining third party safety tracking sites and assisting employees on matters regarding safety PPE, safety training records, and medical monitoring activities. Therefore, this person needs to be extremely organized and must pay attention to detail.
    • Possess a valid Driver’s License
    • Manage Company Fleet:
      • Outfit/order safety supplies for company trucks
      • Manage repairs for Vehicles
      • Mileage tracking
      • Insurance and registration
      • Utilize GEOTab
    • Help reconcile and submit safety department expense reports.
    • Work with the Director of Safety in reviewing Safety Policies.


    • Associates Degree preferred OR equivalent experience.
    • Five (5) years of previous expeince
    • Must be at an intermediate skill level for MS Office, specifically MS Word & Excel.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, with all levels of staff, and multi-task as necessary to meet deadlines.
    • Experience working with confidential information.
    • OSHA 30 certification required
