  • Overview

    The Survey Data Technician is a position that assists the Project Team by interpreting and processing field data and conducting office and field activities with the direction and guidance of a Project Manager.  In this role, an employee will be expected to develop and demonstrate proficiency in regards to the essential functions of the job found below.


    • Review and evaluate survey field notes and data with supervisor.
    • Review and process survey data for completeness and accuracy upon receipt from the field.
    • Coordinate necessary survey activities with field staff to clarify or request additional data to resolve any discrepancies found in the received data.
    • Determine if all project survey tasks have been completed, reviewed, processed and documented in compliance with the projects requirements.
    • Provide technical support to field survey crews.
    • Survey field skills or willingness to support field staff on local work.
    • Adherence to Atwell Product Quality Standards.
    • Duties will primarily be office related but may require occasional field work associated with all facets of surveying.
    • Understand project scope by conferring with project team members and Project Manager.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong knowledge and use of MS Excel
    • Demonstrate a basic understanding and entry-level application of the following technical skills:
    • Surveying Procedures and Practices
    • MS Word, and Outlook


    • High School Diploma is required.
    • Three (3) plus years of experience supporting Oil & Gas survey operations utilizing CAD.
    • Extensive knowledge in Trimble Business Center software.
    • Experience using Trimble survey equipment.
    • AutoCAD Civil 3D.
